Great Non-Fiction Book
My daughter is 2 years and 4 months old and she started showing her interest to nonfiction book since she was 18 months old. She prefers real photographs better than illustrations and this serious of books give her what she likes the best. This Little Kids First Big Book of Birds is a great addition to our collection of "First Big Book" and my daughter enjoys identifying different animals, fish, bugs and birds as she turning the pages. I look forward for the day that she could read those words herself!
Educational, Lots of Pictures, Great for Parents and Kids
I like this book (this "series" of books, really). They've got lots of interesting facts, lots of pictures for the kids, and are easy to read to kids while still being interesting enough to keep an adult entertained. This book in particular has got information on lots of birds and includes things that kids find cool like how big it is in comparison to them (most of the time) or how many eggs it has at a time, or what it eats, etc. Overall I'd recommend this book and the other books like it in the "series".
Excellent kids first bird book!
Have bought several for nieces and nephews as they're first bird book because I love it! Has lots if pictures and talks about the basics. All around exactly what youd expect from National Geographic :)
My Grandson Loves Them All
I've bought many of these National Geographic books for my grandson because he absolutely LOVES them. Science is his favorite subject, and these books motivate him to read. He's learned much by reading them. Even the correct pronunciation of the names of the various dinosaurs simply roll off his tongue. I'll continue to buy them for him -- as long as they remain reasonably priced.
LOVE LOVE LOVE
My 4 year old is reading and I wanted to find him nonfiction text. These National Geographic books are perfect for his reading level! The pictures are informative and engaging and the text itself is well written and easy to follow. I have purchased at least 10 of these books and my son loves them. The book itself is super sturdy too. Love that the font is large.
Bright and informative
My daughter loves birds. These books are for younger children (4-7) in my opinion. Great pictures and quick info on the animal.
Great book
Our 6 year old son loves birds. This book has a LOT of great information with colorful pictures and descriptions. It will certainly be a KEEPER in our book collection.
Educational
I bought this book for my 2 1/2 year old granddaughter. She’s too young to read (mom and dad do), but she loves the pictures. The parents have birds in their yard and she tries to find the right picture to match.
Kids love this book!
Our grandsons ages 5 and 3 love this book. The picture are bright and beautiful and the information is age relevant. In facet they have nearly the whole series of these books now and are picked out over any other of the hundred books that they have.
Great book!
I bought this for my grandson for Christmas - he's six and he likes birds. It is a beautiful book with great text, beautiful photos and age-appropriate activities. I am really glad I bought this product.
